Reiki is a natural, safe, and simple alternative health modality that everyone can use. Because it helps the body bring balance to the root cause of disease and imbalance, it can be used effectively to work with physical, mental, emotional, and energetic conditions. Reiki is non-invasive and can work in conjunction with medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. Reiki can do no harm, so it is safe to incorporate into your wellness practice.

All Reiki sessions begins by having a conversation about your expectations from the session, and what you would like to see improved in your body, mind, and life. Detailed notes are taken so your progress can be monitored. Any questions you have can be answered before laying on the treatment table.

You will then lie on a treatment table, fully clothed. Your comfort will be ensured before the treatment begins. A pillow, bolster, and a blanket are provided as necessary. Soft relaxing music will play in the background, and Essential Oils will be diffused.

As your practitioner, I will set the intention that your body will draw in the Reiki energy needed to balance and heal. I will then begin by scanning the body with the Traditional Japanese Reiki Technique, of Byosen Scanning. Then, holding my hands in various positions in your energy feild (aura) and on your body, I apply Reiki’s healing energy. The session is usually conducted with meditation to help the client relax deeper and be open to receiving.  Use this time to enjoy the music, scents of essential oils, and the general feeling of peace. The sensations that a person receives during a session varies. Some people fall asleep while others just feel incredibly peaceful. This was a feeling I’d never experianced before Reiki, and one I quickly knew my body needed more of! Reiki can feel hot and/or cold during the session, sometimes you may feel tingling or a light sense of flowing, almost like a gentil stream. All of these sensations are very gentle, relaxing and rejuvinating.

When the session is complete, I will quietly let you know and have you take your time as you focus on the present.

There is no set number of Reiki sessions required, though I find a series of weekly sessions is usually the best place to start. The amount of sessions greatly depends on the areas you wish to receive help with. If you have an intuitive sense of when a session is required,  listen to that inner guidance, rather than wait until something ails you.  It is recommended to receive Reiki to help you not only survive, but thrive.

  • Quantum physics describes this phenomenon as a non-local quantum hologram, which means the information via the mind and body can be accessed by connected parties without the parties being in the presence of each other. We “connect” by using the name, and photo of the recipient.
  • In scientific experiments, when live cells from the same person are separated by miles, whatever is done to one of the cells is reflected in the other cells, miles away.
  • Non-local events happen all the time. For example, have you ever heard of a person who knew something was happening to a person close to them, even though they were separated by thousands of miles? Experiments with dogs have shown that some dogs can detect the moment when their owner leaves work to come home (the distance is well beyond the capabilities of the sense of smell).

It is well known that humans only use a small fraction of their brain. When using proper techniques it is possible to unleash the endless possibilities of the brain. The brain is able to function at a number of different cycles, one of which is the alpha state. In this state, the brain is functioning at optional levels with much faster and more efficient operation. It is in this state that one may recieve deep healing, and even reprogram subconscious beliefs and limiting patterns.

Fundamental to Reiki healing sessions is the absence of diagnosis, prescriptions, pharmaceutical, or surgical intervention, as well as practitioner-centered agendas.

Ultimately, it is you, the client, who is doing all of the healing. It is my responsibility to ensure that I steward this great and very natural process to the best of my ability.

*Reiki is not a substitute for medical or phycological diagnosis and treatment. I strongly recommend you see a licensed physician or other licensed healthcare professional for any physical or psychological ailment, whether it be acute or chronic the you may be suffering from or suspect that you may have. Reiki energy works in harmony with all other forms of healing, including drugs, surgery, psychological care, or any other method of alternative care and is known to improve results.

The first form of Reiki that was rediscovered and brought to the modern world by Mikao Usui in 1922. Hawayo Takata, a student of Dr. Chujiro Hayashi (who studied with Usui) brought the Usui system of Reiki to the West. Because of the many changes made to the original Usui Reiki Ryoho by Hayashi and Takata, what we now know of Usui Reiki differs in the way it was originally taught. Takata stated that it was to complicated for the western mind to comprehend, so she adopted hand placements, and added the Usui Master Symbol.

The Holy Fire energies first open up a person’s spirit and fill their soul with Holy Love. Holy Love is the vibration of Holy Fire Reiki. It is the pure love that connects the core of all creation with the core of our spirit. The nature of Reiki is to help us remember the love of our divine spirit. Holy Fire is a direct connection between the source of pure love that exists outside of us and the pure love of our spirit. Deep healing and purification of unknown wounds and origin usually occur. I have found that some of the healing I have received I didn’t know I needed or wanted. They were outside of my conscious awareness. Holy Fire Reiki has been able to rapidly heal the wounds to my soul that were the “seed and roots” of limitations I had learned to live with. Holy Fire Reiki empowers the soul and brings back the divine essence of a person.

Karuna Reiki® which can be defined as the Reiki of Compassion, helps us to offer compassion to ourself and others, and experience a deeper level of healing. Karuna Reiki®  adds additional techniques a Practitioner can use to promote much deeper healing. Chanting and toning the names of the Karuna Reiki® symbols while giving a treatment deepens the healing process. The vibration of the voice becomes a physical carrier wave for the Karuna Reiki® energy to travel on. This causes the healing energies to penetrate more deeply into the cells and tissues of the clients body. The chakras and auras of both the practitioner and client are also opened more completely allowing a wonderful vibrancy to take place within and around them. Those who have experienced this process report a feeling of becoming more awake, more alive and more completely healed.
